Bangkok is situated in the heart of South East Asia, making it one of the major cities for both business and pleasure.
As the capital of Thailand, Bangkok is the seat of the Royal Government of Thailand, which may offer you opportunities to meet with government agencies relating to your work. Bangkok also hosts many universities with architectural, planning and engineering programs, which may present chances to lecture or talk at one of the universities on the topic of your interest.
But more importantly, Bangkok is a fun city. It is a great city for architectural explorations. From the Grand Palace and temples to the alleys of the old city, to high design neighborhoods of Sukhumvit and Ari, you will marvel at its rich architectural heritage. It is a great place to get involved with cultural activities, from traditional crafts and cooking to modern art and music. It is also one of the great culinary capitals of the world, where you can lunch at a five-star restaurant or dine at a curbside establishment.

VENUE
The ICAADE 2015 conference will be held at the Arsom Silp Institue of the Arts in Bangkok. More information on this beautiful venue can be found here.
ACCOMMODATION
Bangkok is a large modern metropolis. It hosts varieties of accommodation options. A range of hotels are available, from the well-known five-star international brands to small unique boutique hotels to affordable limited service accommodation options.

TRAVEL
As a major aviation hub of South East Asia, Bangkok is highly connected to every continent in the world. Direct flights are serving Bangkok from Europe, Africa and Australia. While travelling from the Americas will required a connection either via East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, China or Hong Kong or via the Middle East such as the U.A.E., Qatar or Oman. ICAADE2015 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED TODAY!
The first Conference on Amphibious Architecture, Design and Engineering ended today after three days of intense debat and outstanding presentations. The conference has received very positive ratings: 90% of the participants rated the conference as 'excellent' and will attend the next ICAADE conference which will be held in 2017.

After two lectures the three teams made a tour by boat on the Chao Phraya River to get a feel of Bangkok's relationship with water.

BOMB EXPLOSION BANGKOK: ICAADE2015 WILL GO ON
A bomb has exploded at a Hindu shrine in central BKK some 15hrs ago. Our heart goes out to those who have been effected.
As there has not issued any warning against travel to Bangkok (yet), the conference will go on as planned.

STUDENTS FROM 6 NATIONALITIES PARTICIPATE IN STUDENT DESIGN WORKSHOP
Students from six different nationalities will participate in the student design workshop. The workshop will be held from 20 to 25 August 2015. Registration will close on August 5.
